Johnston serving in the war, his decision was finally made up.  Senator Archie Johnston was a Royal Air Force Bomber. Senator Johnston remembers being at the end of the air craft, no heat, and 20,000 feet up not being able to move, cramped doors flying open, wind trying to pull him out. After returning from the war he was awarded several medals. Senator Johnston was awarded the DSO, DFM, and medals for participating.

After the war Senator Johnston was a founder of Woodleigh Replicas located in Burlington, PEI. 1. The spelling of Archie Johnstone's name is incorrect throughout the entire article above, as it should be Johnstone with an "e".
